Dashboards
Lead Design | Research
Overview
Our sales team identified a growing demand for dashboards during their conversations with potential clients. Many users wanted more control over how they could interact with their data, as well as the ability to generate insights from diverse metrics across various operational areas. This project focused on delivering a solution that met these demands by creating a scalable dashboard that could integrate multiple data points and provide users with customization ultimately empowering users to make informed decisions with greater ease.
The Right Balance
Through user interviews and testing, we discovered that while users wanted a robust dashboard with in-depth analytics, they also needed the flexibility to configure certain aspects to suit their specific needs. This feedback led us to develop "semi-baked" metrics—pre-defined data points that users could further customize by adjusting the visualizations and some key configurations. This approach struck the right balance, giving users a sense of control without overwhelming them with too many options. Additionally, one of the key insights we gained was the importance of integrating third-party services that provide competitor benchmarking. Clients emphasized that having access to this type of data within a dashboard would be a game changer so we prioritized exploring integration options to enhance the value of the dashboard further.
Conclusion
In the end we were able to address both the immediate needs of our sales team and the evolving expectations of our clients. By incorporating user feedback we created a dashboard framework that offers both robust analytics and customization to fit their specific needs.
